Adult Neuropsychologist

Full-time
Application Deadline: N/A

New York University Langone Health (NYULH), Department of Neurology is recruiting an early- to early-mid career full-time adult neuropsychologist.  In addition to neuropsychological assessment within the Department of Neurology Faculty Group Practice, the neuropsychologist will engage in the educational activities of the Neuropsychology Division, which spans the Department of Neurology clinical specialty divisions and campuses within the NYULH enterprise.

NYULH is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center, known for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education.  The neuropsychologist will be embedded within the NYULH Department of Neurology’s outpatient setting performing neuropsychological consultative assessments.

While demonstrated experience in dementia syndromes is required for the position, the range of consultation questions and multidimensional clinical presentations of the patient population require broad knowledge across specialties and disease presentations as well as the ability to tailor assessment approaches and written communications to different referral sources.  This clinical variety provides an intellectually stimulating and engaging environment for the neuropsychologist who is interested in life-long learning.  The tremendous diversity (e.g., linguistic, cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic) of the patient population within the NYULH catchment area demands experience with and ongoing commitment to cultural competency and dedication to meeting the assessment needs of patients from a myriad of backgrounds.

For interested candidates, there are opportunities for research development.

Minimum qualifications include PhD or PsyD from a Clinical Psychology (or related health service psychology area) program accredited by APA or CPA, and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship with specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology.  NYS psychology licensure (or license eligible) is required. Board certification, or eligibility for certification, by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP)/American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN) is required. If not already attained, completion of the ABCN board credential is required within five years of hire.  All candidates must meet NYULH criteria for psychology core privileges. Documentation of additional specialty education/training is required for non-core clinical privileges (e.g., neuropsychological assessment).

Salary range: $100,000-$130,000.  The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.

The position includes a faculty appointment within the NYU School of Medicine and generous health benefits.
