The Department of Neurology/Division of Neuropsychology at Montefiore Medical Center/ Albert Einstein College of Medicine is seeking an early to mid-career lifespan neuropsychologist to join our team.

 

The Division of Neuropsychology is currently composed of 5 neuropsychologists/ faculty members, two bilingual/bicultural post-doctoral fellows, and two externship programs (~6 externs a year).   We are a busy division with referrals coming from within the neurology department, as well as from neurosurgery, pediatrics, geriatrics, psychiatry, general medicine, and the community.  We are actively involved with the world renowned Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Montefiore Medical Center, the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Clinical Care and Research Center, the division of movement disorders at Montefiore, and have a robust multidisciplinary neurodegenerative service at the Montefiore Memory Disorders Center and in our Center for the Aging Brain (CAB) - the clinical site for the Hudson Valley Center of Excellence for Alzheimer's disease (CEAD). Neuropsychologists see patients in our main office on the Moses Campus of Montefiore Medical Center, as well as, at sites elsewhere in the Bronx (East Campus), Yonkers and Tarrytown. The position has flexibility to practice in subspecialty areas based upon the unique interests of the selected candidate.

 

Primary responsibilities will involve clinical neuropsychological evaluation of children and adults referred for assessment.  A major focus of the position is the ability to assess minority and underserved populations within our catchment area.  Additional responsibilities will include supervision of our neuropsychological fellows and externs, as well as involvement with the planned expansion of neuropsychological services to other adult populations. There are ample opportunities to participate in several thriving research programs, as well as abundant mentorship and teaching opportunities. We also have an active presence in the neurology residency program and this position comes with a faculty appointment within the department of neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine commensurate with the candidate’s experience.

 

Requirements: A doctorate degree (Ph.D./Psy.D.) in Clinical Neuropsychology or Clinical Psychology with specialization in Neuropsychology; (2) completion of clinical internship; (3) completion of 2 year clinical fellowship in neuropsychology in accordance of the Houston guidelines. Licensure in the State of New York. 

Whereas active ABPP board-certification in clinical neuropsychology is not required, the provider is expected to take steps to obtain ABPP board certification in clinical neuropsychology within 5 years of the date of hire.

The ideal candidate will be bilingual (Spanish/English), or will, at least, have a receptive Spanish fluency/competency to supervise our bilingual fellows.
